The Griffin Inn is a homely small hotel. The bed in the double room was exceptionally comfortable. The hotel offers great-sized bathrooms with a walk-in shower. Outstanding dishes are served at the hotel. The location is very central, near the railway station. The main bar offers local drinks and the service is welcoming.

Modernised pub on the ground floor. A pleasant place seemingly operated by young staff eager to oblige. Unfortunately did not do evening meals but plenty of other places around.

Rooms were comfortable and facilities/food were good. Staff were helpful and courteous. Location is great for a city visit, close to all transport links.
Stairs are a bit steep after a few drinks! this did not take anything away from the hotel, it's also part of the charm of an old building.

The hotel was nicely appointed and everything was very good. The single room was extremely pleasant and brand-new. The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. It had an excellent location next door to a pub downstairs in the evening and the town centre.

friendly staff with relaxed atmosphere, excellent breakfasts, great selection of beers, quiet but v close to all facilities of city, comfortable room. Very much an individual hotel, almost anarchic at times - v diff from the standardised and predicatble food, facilities etc of chain hotels which was why we liked it and would go again.

The breakfast was excellent. Simple and fresh. The staff were extremely helpful.....really wish we had stayed for longer so that we could enjoy more of the food. The cheese choices looked delicious. The beds were very clean and comfortable.
Shower curtains.....just because I don't like shower curtains. The low ceilings in our attic would be a problem if you were staying for more than one night.
